Wow, I am doubly lucky to have found a SECOND cube. It was next to the Cloud Gate (da bean) sculpture....IN THE GARBAGE. I got tipped off by a security guard at Millennium park after his colleague, Don, was gracious enough to bequeath me his cube that he found in the park. He told me he thought he had seen another cube in the garbage. I thought, that's odd, what would one be doing in the garbage? So I decided to investigate and lo and behold, there it was...a little dirty, but intact!

Here is the link to my other cube, #115

I'm really looking forward to having people take photos with the cube and all the fun possibles the project offers. Thank you Art Institute!

Dang, Brad. Lucky you to find two. How are the pictures coming? There are quite a few people who've posted pictures already, but no lead is insurmountable. ;)

I had a lot of fun creating photos for the cube project. Fifty-Six photos in the series, captured in various places with a myriad of people. Family, friends and strangers alike were very happy to help me and become subjects in the cube project photos. The cube was great ice breaker, allowing me to photograph people in their environments without almost any hesitation. After explaining my goal, to photograph people with the cube in unique ways, my subjects were more than happy to oblige. I feel the photos reflect people in a positive way, in their everyday lives and allowing the viewer to make their own conclusions. Thank you, Art Institute Of Chicago, for making this public project for people to participate, create and enjoy the world of art. I hope you enjoy my work as much as I enjoy sharing them with all of you. Brad Bretz

I noticed that, depending on the re-size, some of the photos do not post even though they appear on the AIC Cube project Flickr page. I will be uploading all the photos to my Flickr page as a set and will post the link at the end, thanks!

Wow, that was a lot of photos to upload. Hope everyone enjoys them!
I'd like to say that this project for me wasn't so much about winning the race, but about enjoying the journey. I hope all of you whom participated enjoyed the journey as well, we are all winners. God bless!

My fav is the one @ Lane Tech....awesome images both forefront and back (inlcuding the cube of course)! My other fav is the bus stop one with the bus in the pic. Also really liked the one of Nance being the new lower price and the one in the Art Institute where the cube is being inserted into the square in the picture....all very cool!!!!

Hi Brad,

Just wanted to give you a head's up that our roller derby league is called the Windy City Rollers, not the "Window" City Rollers!

Would love to pose for the cube anytime.

so fun! how easy/ hard was it to get people to pose for you?

#79 Brad Bretz commented on 3/1/2010

Thanks Mary, Jessie, Ruth & sb.

Sorry about the typo, Ruth...lol

sb, It was a great project to do and the cube made it easy to break the ice. Since the Art Institute is a well recognized and highly regarded institution, most people were very open to participating, with few exceptions. I did have to persuade a few people that they looked good on camera. ;)
