Cube distance contest

How far can your cube go? Your cube is in a contest with 9 other cubes to go the furthest distance from the Art Institute by January 31, 2010. You may pass your cube on to anyone who can help, and your cube can travel by any available method. Document its travels along the way with words and photos (making sure something is identifiable in the background). Your contribution may appear in a special display at the Art Institute.

Season's Greetings from cube#448. (photo taken before it's trip to Tokyo. Here is Oi Sawa and Tazuko Fujii's latest communication:
Dear Kathleen,

O.K, We will wait the special visitor safe named red cube #448 .
We hope his safety travel to our home and we will send it back to you as soon as using an express mail .

I, Oi's students had tried to do almost same project four years ago.
Their thinking was the fashion communication by big apron dress.
Their apron dress had traveled from HOKKAIDOH ( north Japan) to KYUSYU(south Japan) and the people who had received it had written massage on it with the photo of cooking foods to use this apron dress Oi remember this project.

See you next year in Onward Gallery!

best regard,

Tazuko and OI

Yes, Claudia, Dec'09 for cube#448 has been very good! Jan'10 should be exciting as well. Here's the cube with the Addams Family playbill, the actors were wonderful, i (and maybe, the cube) feel that special kudos go to the set designers and staff, because, as good as the actors were that night, the play would not have been as enchanting if the set design had not met the actors' efforts.

I have some friends in New Zealand, let me know if you want the box to go there. Distance: 7,111.54 (NM) / 8,185.56 (MI) / 13,170.56 (KM), from ICAO:KORD to ICAO:NZAA

I may also be able to hook up McMurdo Station in Antarctica but it requires a lot of logistics, especially if you want to have it down there before winter. Distance: 8,038.79 (NM) / 9,252.86 (MI) / 14,887.84 (KM), from ICAO:KORD to ICAO:NZPG

Maybe you should contact NASA's public affairs office and see if one of the scientists can take it up to space!

Wow, what an interesting proposal: cube#448 possibly traveling to New Zealand, Antarctica or outer space (as a long shot)! Well, here are the time constraints, John: the cube has to have arrived at the it's furthest distance by Jan 31st 2010. If you or your friends would commit to photo documenting cube 448's travels and send it back to Chicago after Jan 31st this could work! Just give me the address.
